So the double tapes are about to start coming. These are the 1st two that came out. I used to get mega-props for these double cassette cases, mainly because nobody else was doing it or had seen it before, and I was looking to out-do the other mixtape DJ's at the time, by giving 2 full 90 minute cassettes worth of new joints every month. I always felt like 90 minutes just wasn't enough and I had music for days, so why not double up. The funny story about the cases is that I ordered what I thought were regular 'double cassette' plastic cases, and when my duplication guy showed them to me I hated them and freaked out. I was like "What the f*%k am I going to do with these". My artwork guys saw the opportunity for a bigger 'graphic' canvas and after seeing it with the artwork it made a little more sense, but I was still sceptic...who knew, it eventually became my staple 'look' and I was at a loss when I had to switch to CD format around 2000.
NO TALKING NO BULLSHIT (1998)
"No Talking No Bullshit" was my tagline at the time, cuz I wanted to make sure the customers knew what they were getting...straight joints and I never said a word on the tapes...I was on some real Eric B shit! At the time, every DJ was basically biting Clue's format...not mixing, shouting out the artist or label that gave out the song they were playing at the beginning of each track(over the verses sometimes too) and basically playing the industry game and not breaking records (new artists, album cuts and b-sides), just mimicking what the radio deemed as 'hot'...I wasn't down with it.
